Rotary Club of Madras Vadapalani, the 39th Club of R.I.Dist 3230 (presently 3232) with Club No. 31382 is the off spring of the Rotary Club of Madras Southwest.
The Club was inaugurated on 4th November 1995 and was chartered on 19th March 1996. This club is the part of the Rotary International, started in 1905 and spread over the word wide with 1.2 Million Members in 35000 Clubs covering 600 Districts. Rtn K. Srinivasan, Rotary Club of Madras South West was the GSR and Rtn PHF Dr. C. Chinnaswamy was the Charter President.
Some of our regular projects include Blood Donation Camps, recognition of the teaching Community with the best Teacher Awards during the Teachers Day Celebrations, recognition and promotion of the talents of the New Generation, Training Leadership qualities in the new generation through RYLAs, Screening and providing health care to the needy, recognition of Excellence in vocations and services through awards etc.
The Club has a registered trust in RCMV Community Welfare Charitable Trust for implementing the service projects of the club and the donations to this trust are exempted from Income tax under 80G.
The club has so far implemented Three Matching grant projects in providing complete Laboratory facilities for the Corporation School, donating a Hemo Dialysis Machines to the Tanker Foundation for the exclusive use of HIV Patients and donating Equipment to Public Health Center for use in their ICU.
Under the village adoption Twenty-one toilet units have been successfully constructed with joint contributions from the beneficiaries, the state and central government and our Trust at the Kollamedu Village.
The plans are ahead of undertaking a permanent project which will educate the Girl Children in and around Chennai.
